About Levi Downey

Levi Downey is a music producer based in Los Angeles, CA. He started by performing professionally as a teenager in the Pacific Northwest (saxophone in jazz combos, rock bands, and big bands) but quickly found a love and talent for producing. Downey moved to Los Angeles from Portland and landed at Cre•8 Music Academy honing his songwriting, production, vocal production, mixing, and mastering skills in partnership with Westlake Recording Studios (Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, etc.). Levi is driven by a passion to help artists of all levels achieve their full potential!

Downey works out of Death Star Studios in Korean Town and Cre•8/Westlake Studios in WeHo for vocal production, mixing and larger live recordings. Focusing his production efforts on up and coming artists as well as sync licensing projects and opportunities. But you might catch me performing live in fusion band Echo Pearl Varsity too!

Downey has produced music for shows like CBS's All American, The 4400, Disney+’s Bluey, and more. He is the Executive Producer of Chaos Radio which tells the story of the 77-person headless band known as Chaos, named Billboard’s #1 Music NFT project in June of 2022 (outpacing other prominent artists including Snoop Dog, Steve Aoki, etc.). Ardently experimenting in the convergence of web2 and web3 music, Downey is a contributor to several Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) including Songcamp and the music + web3 media/research DAO Water & Music.

Levi’s passion for community building led him to join the marketing team at the Guild of Music Supervisors, volunteer for the Music Needs Supervision unionization efforts, as well as supporting and contributing to web3 powered community-owned projects like SongADAO, Headless Chaos, The Glue Factory, and David Rudnick’s Tomb Series.

Making a recording sound as good as it possibly can while staying true to the artistic vision of a song is his daily practice.
